nacra 20 carbon

2010 is set to be a good year! Hot on the heels of Nacra winning the F18 Worlds they announce this weapon!

An all Carbon 20 footer with all the bells and whistles including banana foils! No mention as to when this boat is going to hit the water but I suspect some lucky crews have been testing this thing already! What we know is that the 20 One design is already super smooth and fast so imagine the N20 on steroids and you begin to get the picture!!

Also due for release very soon is the new F18 from AHPC, a yet to be named cat! Having seen the sneak peeks of the design drawings its a VIPER 2.0 – only longer. The Viper was a refinement of the Capricorn F18… what they learned from the F18 allowed greg Goodall to put all the little changes into the Viper now that trend is going back the other way… lessons learned from the F16 are heading back up stream! The most radical aspect of the new F18 is a completely new bow shape… but you’ll have to wait till I find the pictures again!

Meanwhile… drool over the 20 C image and just imagine boat SPEED!

About prosailing

In Southeast Asia a long time and all the while, sailing cats. But the cat love-affair began when I finished building my first catamaran at age 15... "never again". After building 2 more Formula 16 cats in Malaysia it's really 'never again'. Now we have a large fleet of high-tech speed machines including the Nacra 20 Carbon. Then we decided to spread our wings a little more and imported the Corsair Dash 750. Now we are well on the way to establishing a Coastal One Design Dash Class. As a test bed, we had 4 Dashes take part in the Neptune Regatta and now the plans are rolling out.
